FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric-arc gas heaters and can be used in plasma generators. The cathode component incorporates cathode holder with fitted-in cathode insert made in refractory metal and representing section rod. Note here that the said cathode insert is furnished with a rear-side space housing an activating substance.
EFFECT: maintaining constant concentration of activating substance particles in cathode insert operating zone irrespective of plasma generator operation period.
