SUBSTANCE: invention concerns system of Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and method of service processing in such network. Terminal equipment (TE) is transformed into Service Switching Point (SSP) with Service Switching Function (SSF), so that a call can be directed to the relevant Service Control Point (SCP) for service processing according to different conditions; without modernisation of Local Equipment (LE) all services are directed by data configuration to SSP point of TE station with the help of call routing function of LE station; billing center obtains service information for payment charge only from SSP.
EFFECT: possibility to utilise available devices and network resources to the maximum, thus reducing costs and reconstruction problems.
