SUBSTANCE: wild seeds are humidified on bed, couched within 8-10 days and tested for sprouts and roots development intensity, infected seeds quantity. Biological efficiency of seeds is calculated by formula: 
where Hv is potential efficiency of seeds, unit; Ls is sprout length, cm; Lr is root length, cm; C is seed contamination, %; Wo is weight of produced organic substance, g; Wc is weight of seed sprouting, g; Ft is thermal factor. To evaluate intensity of sprouts and backs development device is used including overlapping tapes made of polyethylene film with gradation above and below and water-absorbing material. Film has notched for seeds and sprouts and roots guiders thickness of which is not more than this of analysed culture. Method allows for comparative analysis of wild seed batches and for selection of the most productive.
