FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy particularly to process of heating of stocks in furnaces with their successive rolling in line of hot rolling mills. Method of control over heating of stocks includes evaluation of current thermal condition in furnace by means of determining of heat balance for each of furnace zones, and also of thermal condition of stocks, on base of which prognosis of their thermal state is made in process of their motion by means of solution of heat conductivity equation for each stock to obtain required temperature at output from furnace. Rolling forces applied to heated stocks at initial clamping in rolling stand of mill are measured and if measured forces exceed required value, then current thermal condition of furnace is corrected.

EFFECT: facilitating of required quality of rolled product at minimisation of fuel consumption.
