FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: control valve incorporates a body with inlet and outlet, fixed and movable plates with profile openings. Plates with mating end face surfaces are fitted on common shaft. Movable plate is arranged to turn about the fixed plate. The profile opening inner walls widens outward of the said mating plates surfaces. At that the profile opening inner walls can have sophisticated shape, e.g. they can be stepwise with various acute angles of steps inclination to the plate end face surfaces, or represent various curvilinear lines with normal section, for example, spiral. In the latter case, a channel for the working medium to flow through along a helical trajectory is formed in the different inner walls of the said profile openings arranged in unlike plates opposite each other. The spiral axis is aligned with the valve axis.
EFFECT: reduced drag, increased flow rate factor, smaller friction in valve, lower drive power consumption, reduced valve weight and sizes.
