FIELD: communications.
SUBSTANCE: at transmitting side, information sources, if necessary, format, compress binary digital streams (BDS) in compression unit (including combinational unit) and modulate them in high-frequency modulator, convert into signal stream, and at receiving side in reverse order signal stream is demodulated in high-frequency demodulator, converted into compressed BDS stream, these BDS's are decompressed in decompression unit, formatted, if necessary, and presented to information consumers. If necessary, at transmitting side signal streams of other groups of information sources are summarised and at receiving side they are separated in multiple access units. At that, in compression unit processor binary digits of BDS are orderly read in one stroke and converted into stream of Mn-ary characters, and in decompression unit processor stream of Mn-ary characters are converted in one stroke into BDSs which are orderly, just as during reading are presented to consumers.
EFFECT: enhancement of frequency resource usage efficiency.
