FIELD: physics, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to communication engineering. During selection of transfer mode used in data transfer by means of MIMO-channel from station A to station B, station A receives information of channel used for spatial processing, and determines "age" of this information. Station A selects one of several transfer modes on the basis of channel information "age" and, possibly, other information (for instance, characteristics of MIMO-channel attenuation). For selection of speeds used in data transfer, station A receives channel status information (CSI), which specifies quality of received signal for MIMO-channel, for instance, accepted SNR or "initial" speeds. Station A determines "age" of CSI and selects one or more "final" speeds on the basis of CSI, "age" of CSI, selected transfer mode and, possibly, other information. Station A processes data in accordance with selected mode of transfer and final speeds, and sends processed data of station B.

EFFECT: increase of transfer efficiency in time-dependent wireless system.
