FIELD: construction industry; railways.
SUBSTANCE: it is recommended to use sleeper design in case there are no rail track circuits (introduction of electric axle counter system, etc.); otherwise insulating spacers shall be provided. Sleeper is made from timber, on which metal element is installed. Metal element is made in the form of rectangular plate which is rigidly fixed on timber upper edge; tie-plates with the holes appropriate for fasteners are attached to the rectangular plate. At that rectangular plate width is not less than tie-plate width, and rectangular plate length is not less than the distance between outer ends of tie-plates, and rectangular plate height vs. sleeper height is 0.020-0.035.
EFFECT: reducing mechanical damage to wooden part and keeping constant track width.
