FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for setting of required amplitude-frequency characteristics and phase-frequency variations of phase-shift keyed, amplitude-shift keyed and amplitude-phase-shift keyed signals in specified frequency band and frequency transformation. Method of radio-frequency signal amplitude and phase modulation implies that radio-frequency signal is supplied from signal source to modulator containing four-pole network, three-pole controlled element connected to two-level low-frequency control signal source. Complex impedance of three-pole controlled element is changed from one value to the other. Load with complex conductance for line modulated radio-frequency signals is connected to output of four-pole network. Signal source conductance is complex. All the two-pole networks of four-pole network are resistive. Parameter values of the elements comprising two-pole networks specified in such a way as to maintain preset relations of signal amplitude and phase variations within specified frequency band. Device contains radio-frequency signal source, three-pole controlled element operated by low-frequency control signal source, four-pole network made of resistive two-pole networks, load for line amplitude and phase modulated radio-frequency signals with complex conductance values. Parameter values of elements are specified in such a way as maintain relations specified by mathematical expressions in formula of invention.

EFFECT: provided amplitude and phase manipulation and amplitude amplification of line signal with specified amplification in two conditions of controlled element within wide band.
