FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: gripping socket designed to lock workpieces at central position for machining comprises a device to center workpiece of work table 7 made up of at least three centering elements 11 arranged at equal angular distances to come in contact with the said workpiece to move it into central position. Every aforesaid centering element 11 is arranged to move along the preset radial axis Y. Drive is linked up with every centering element 11 to make them displace along said radial direction Y. Note here that said drive is furnished with rotary driving element 15 for every centering element 11 and an appropriate appliance 16 and 17 designed to convert drive rotation to centering element translation. Second appliance 18 and 19 designed to transmit motion between driving elements 15 is designed to synchronously transmit rotary motion from one of the said driving elements 15 to the other driving elements so as to provide for synchronous translation of centering elements 11 along appropriate radial direction.
EFFECT: reduced time required to adjust workpieces in machining.
