FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: method for creation of electric resistance gasket for connecting carbon blanks with each other and/or with electrodes in Castner-type graphitising furnace includes gasket manufacturing of foil on the basis of thermal expanded graphite by means of pressing up to density of 1.4 - 1.9 g/cm3. In one version the foil is milled before pressing into fraction of 0.1-2.0 mm. In the second version blanks of foil strips winded into spirals are prepared before pressing. In the third version part of foil is winded into spiral, created blank is put into mould repeating gasket shape and after that the mould is filled up with milled foil. Foil wastes may be utilised to get gaskets of various shapes.

EFFECT: electric resistance is reduced and reproducibility of electric contact properties of gasket is improved.
