SUBSTANCE: invention refers to antenna engineering, specifically to methods of phased array (PA) directional pattern (DP) measuring in near-field region not changing its position concerning the pickup antenna. Offered method of phased array (PA) directional pattern (DP) analysis includes as follows. Phased array receives (emits) signals. Phase shifting of one or more PA elements is changed. Amplitude and phase of resultant signal emitted (received) by support antenna are measured. Specified data are used to evaluate amplitude and phase of element excitation and calculate DP of PA in compliance with mentioned mathematical model. Measurements are taken not in the field of spherical wave radiated by support antenna with phase centre, but in the field of plane wave generated by collimator.

EFFECT: higher accuracy and simplification of PA DP measurement process.
