FIELD: physics; processing of images.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to machines for processing of bank notes and to methods for identification of counterfeit bank notes. Machine for processing of bank notes and method for identification of counterfeit bank notes suggested by present invention are based on comparison of inspected bank notes data with comparative data obtained by comparison of authentic bank notes and available counterfeits. At that additional comparative data is used, which is related to counterfeits of new type, and in order to identify whether inspected bank note is counterfeited, inspected bank notes are compared both with comparative data and additional comparative data related to counterfeits of new type.
EFFECT: higher reliability of new type counterfeit identification due to reduction of time required to start tracing of new type counterfeits.
