CAN FACE COVER WITH EASY-TO-GRAB LUG Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B65D17/34 

FIELD: food industry packaging.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a drink can face cover with edges bent all around. A hold-down wall passes downward from the aforesaid bent edges. The cover central surface is made integral with strengthening elements and aligned about central axis. Note the aforesaid cover surface features tow sides, i.e. one facing the drink contained in the can and the outside one, a comprises also a rivet and movable tear-off tab limited by a break groove and an unbreakable bend site. Undetachable lug is riveted to the cover surface and is furnished with a nose passing above the aforesaid tear-off tab, a pulled up end arranged opposite the aforesaid nose, and a central frame arranged between the said nose and pulled-up end. The central frame a bending section and riveting section enveloping the rivet. The aforesaid riveting section is surrounded by the first opening making the first open section of the cover central surface. The aforesaid central frame has also the second opening between the pulled-up end and the first opening making the second open section of the central cover surface. The aforesaid openings are separated by a narrow crosspiece of the central frame.

EFFECT: invention allows keeping pulled-up lug end above cover outside surface for user to grasp it.
