FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for producing oxide material microspheres and microballoons. Device comprises a plasma generator with a discharged stabilized arc discharge, including a cathode and a tubular hollow graphite anode coaxially and vertically spaced apart from each other. Tubular graphite anode is tightly installed inside the water-cooled tubular copper casing. Outside the copper case with the ability to move along it is an adjustable solenoid. To feed the original refractory material into the plasma jet above the plasma generator, a powder dosage and injectors are installed. Injectors are located radially under the cut of the nozzle of the plasma generator in the space between the cathode and the anode and are connected by lines with a powder dispenser. To collect microspheres and microballoons under the anode, a compartment filled with water is made.
EFFECT: reduced erosion of the graphite anode, increased reliability and prolonged service life of the device.
