SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of prediction of catastrophic phenomena, at sea mainly. Geophysical field parameters are continuously monitored in the area of interest. Measured parameter variations are detected by detecting sinusoidal oscillations of increasing frequency with amplitude positively different from the one typical of the area under study. These sinusoidal oscillations are used to estimate the possibility of catastrophic phenomena occurance. Magnetic field oscillations at 0.01-1.0 Hz, magnetic induction at 1-200 Hz, electrical component of electromagnetic field at 1-500 Hz, acoustic noise at 5-50000 Hz, seismic noises at 0.01-20 Hz, hydrodynamic noise of the sea at 0.01-100 Hz in tectonic zones are measured. According to measured parameters, factor analysis is carried out for natural geophysical background and geophysical background, when the sun and the moon are at the same celestial line. For this purpose, seismic, geodeformational, geochemical and hydrophysical forerunners' gradient amplitude curves are plotted. Measuring base shall not exceed 50-100 km for mid latitudes and 8-10 km for high and equatorial latitudes; measuring means are 8-point oriented.
EFFECT: enhanced operational capabilities, improved forecast reliability.
