FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: electrostatic anomaly signals are measured by a network of seismic stations with selection of control areas. Energy and space-time parameters of the control areas and directivity of the development of the seismic process are determined. Migration of local regions of seismic activity is detected, the change in parameters of which determines the location and size of the imminent earthquake in the seismically active area. When carrying the method, electromagnetic earthquake precursors are determined using at least one seismic station located on a space orbit. Furthermore, high content of radon in underground water and high content of hydrogen on fault lines measured by ground stations are taken as earthquake precursors. Ground stations are provided with a means of probing the earth's crust with a frequency range of 0.01-1000 Hz, which is placed at a given depth in the earth's crust. The network of ground stations is installed on the transcontinental fault system.
EFFECT: high reliability of probabilistic forecast of earthquakes.
