METHOD OF EARLY LABORATORY HAEMATOLOGICAL DIAGNOSTICS OF ACUTE RADIATION SICKNESS SEVERITY Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2347223 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, specifically to radiation medicine. Method of early laboratory haematological diagnostics of acute radiation sickness (ARS) severity in victims of outer gamma neutron radiation includes peripheral blood analysis for leukocytes and reticulocytes content and leukogram, as well as for absolute monocyte number and reactivity index of blood system. Considering the analysis results, linear discriminant functions are calculated thus corresponding to three severity levels of acute radiation sickness (LDF 1 corresponds to subclinical ARS form, LDF 2 to ARS 1 severity level, LDF 3 - ARS 11 severity level). Linear discriminant function is chosen with greatest value (considering algebraic sign) specifying most probable involvement diagnosis. Method is simple and provides rather high accuracy of diagnostics.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of early mild and moderate ARS diagnostics.
