METHOD FOR CHRONIC INFECTIOUS MONONUCLEOSIS SEVERITY DETERMINATION IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2406433 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, to paediatrics and infectious diseases, namely to chronic infectious mononucleosis induced by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and cytomegalovirus (CMV), and can be used for chronic infectious mononucleosis severity determination in children that will allow to optimise the prescribed therapy. That is ensured by the clinical rating (asthenia intensity, liver dimensions in centimetres, annual frequency of acute respiratory diseases, degree of tonsil hypertrophy). At the moment of admission to hospital, a patient is analysed for haematologic (relative atypical mononuclear lymphocyte count in %, monocyte count in % and lymphocyte count in %) and serologic (diagnostic EBV IgM capsid and IgG nuclear antigen) indices. Linear classification functions specific to mild, moderate and severe chronic mononucleosis are determined. The disease severity is determined by comparing the values of the linear classification functions.

EFFECT: method allows more precise chronic infectious mononucleosis severity determination in children.
