FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to production of gamma-lithium aluminate. Gamma-lithium aluminate is obtained from mechanical activation of a mixture of lithium carbonate and aluminium hydroxide in a planetary-type activator with centrifugal acceleration of not less than 40 g and activation time of not less than 10 minutes, with subsequent thermal treatment of the mixture at 700-900°C temperature.
EFFECT: obtaining a finished product with over 99% phase purity and more than 10 m2/g specific surface area.
