FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of carriers for hydrogenation/dehydrogenation catalysts, as well as catalysts for high-temperature oxidation processes and can be widely used in chemical and petrochemical industry. Aluminates of alkali-earth metals with a spinel structure are obtained by reacting an X-ray amorphous product of centrifugal thermal activation of gibbsite Al2O3 * nH2O, n = 0.01–2.99 and solutions of nitrate salts of alkali-earth metals at ratio of liquid component to solid (0.3–10):1 with subsequent treatment of reaction product at temperature not lower than 500 °C.
EFFECT: obtaining magnesium, calcium, strontium and barium aluminates with high specific surface area and wide range of content of spinels in reaction products.
