FIELD: chemistry; water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to purification of sewage water in chemical and metallurgy industry. The method of extracting metal ions from solutions involves sorption by a cationite-product and reaction of comminuted rubber with ozone-air mixture with 1-32 mg/l ozone content and 9-18 l/hr flow rate. The comminuted rubber used is ground tread rubber with 0.125-1.0 mm particle size. The obtained product with acid number 1.64-10.02 mg KOH/g is used for extracting metals.
EFFECT: increased sorption capacity of the sorbent and the quantity of sorbed metal ions.
