FIELD: methods of treatment of sewage waters; applicable in chemical and metallurgical industries for purification of sewage waters from ions of copper, nickel, cobalt, mercury. SUBSTANCE: method is realized by sorption on carboxyl-containing cationite used in the form of product of reaction of peroxidized rubber crumb (with concentration of peroxide groups of 1-5.6%) with acrylic acid in weight ratio of 1:(1-1.5) produced in presence of decomposition activator of peroxide group, and sorption is carried out with pH 3.5-7.8.
