FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to solid body physical and technical acoustics and can be used in radio electronics, automation of technological processes, science of materials, in particular, in practical application of piezoelectric properties of crystals in manufacturing piezoelectric converters for the ultrasonic nondestructive test devices. Lithium iodate crystals for broadband ultrasound converters are produced from a water solution by evaporation at controlled solution acidity and temperature. Note here that the solution acidity pH is kept equal to 0.8, and caesium iodate is added into solution wt 0.2 %. The lithium iodate crystals produced by this way allow receiving, on their basis, broadband converters of ultrasound with essential increase in efficiency of transformation, which considerably expands their applications, brings about a higher factor of electromechanical communication, i.e. to higher efficiency of converters.
