LOCOMOTIVE STUMP SHAPER FOR ENUCLEATION ASSOCIATED WITH PREATROPHY OF EYEBALL AND SURROUNDING TISSUES Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61F9/07 A61F9/00

Abstract RU 2348385 C1

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: shaper contains body designed as triaxial ellipsoid cover filled with elastic polymer material. The cover of the first half of triaxial ellipsoid contains at least four fixation elements designed as disks equispaced along one of parallels by equal angular interspace. Each disk contains atraumatic suture material shaped as thread needle with both ends advancing. Fixation elements are provided inside of ellipsoidal layer formed by two parallels, distanced 1/3 to 2/3 vertical semiaxis lengths of triaxial ellipsoid from symmetry centre of triaxial ellipsoid. External surface point of triaxial ellipsoid maximally distanced from symmetry centre is provided with fixation element designed as advancing loop. The cover of the second half of triaxial ellipsoid contains at least three blind holes equispaced within external surface and shaped as cylinder or wave. The holes are formed inside of ellipsoid segment limited by parallel distanced 2/3 vertical semiaxis lengths of triaxial ellipsoid. Triaxial ellipsoid and fixation elements are made of different biological inert biocompatible materials.

EFFECT: higher mobility, improved centering of the shaper within orbit tissues with simultaneous increase of fixation reliability, reduced rejection rates during postoperative period, reduced operation time and enhanced cosmetic effect.
