FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to electrical engineering facilities. The design of terminal box includes the end of superconducting cable, bushing connecting superconducting cable wire and cooling tank surrounding terminal box and bushing. The cooling tank contains a layer of liquid nitrogen from its cryogenic side and a layer of gaseous nitrogen from its ambient temperature side, adjoining each other. The distance t between the internal surface of cooling tank and external surface of bushing in gaseous nitrogen layer is selected so that gaseous state of nitrogen is maintained avoiding overpressure boosting, and gaseous nitrogen and liquid nitrogen pressures are balanced.

EFFECT: prevention of sealing integrity deterioration on border between ambient temperature area and cryogenic area during long-term operation.
