FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to technology of machine building, namely, to finishing of screw blanks by surface plastic deformation. Rotary motion and longitudinal feed are imparted to screw blank and device that comprises body and working deforming elements arranged in the form of helical cylindrical spring turns. Prior to start-up of longitudinal feed, cross-feed movement is imparted to spring with deforming elements, and it is put in contact with blank and guide block. Rotation from blank is imparted to mentioned spring, which is freely installed on elastic base on axis in body bearings. Guide block shaped as processed screw is used. Forced rotation is imparted to guide block from blank with speed equal to blank speed. In diametrally opposite place relative to guide block blank rests on support holder having support roller. Axes of support holder roller, blank, spring and guide block rotation are parallel. Interaxial distance between blank and guide block is calculated according to formula given in description.
EFFECT: technological resources of surface plastic deformation process are expanded, roughness parameter of processed surface is increased, its hardness is increased, as well as efficiency, and processing cost is reduced.
