SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in optical-mechanical industry for manufacturing retro-reflecting elements of laser location systems. Retro-reflecting element represented with biconvex lens of curvature radiuses R1 and R2 made of optically transparent material of refraction indicator n, ensures element parametric association is specified providing conditions: R1/(n-1)·0.8≤R2≤R1/(n-1)·1.1, -0.11(R1+R2)≤δ≤+0.11(R1+R2), d=R1+R2±δ, where: R1 is curvature radius of the first element surface; R2 is curvature radius of the second element surface; δ is R2 decentration, d is a axial element thickness.
EFFECT: higher range of retro-reflecting element within wide interval of retro-reflecting angles.
