FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to poultry keeping, particularly to the technology of maintaining replacement chicks of farm birds. The method of feeding farm birds involves adding a component to the feed, inducing attraction of birds to the feed. The component used is luminescent material - feed chalk, which is put onto the feed in quantity of 0.1-0.15 g/cm2 - sufficient for luminescence, and is irradiated with ultraviolet light for a period of 10-15 minutes 5 times a day with no light in the fowl-run. The first irradiation with ultraviolet light for a period of 10-15 minutes is done after 3 hour switching off of light right after gathering the flock.
EFFECT: use of the invention increases efficiency of attracting birds to feed.
