FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: force attributable to one abrasive grain is defined for an abrasive tool beforehand. Force of cutting grains retention by abrasive tool binding substance is set assuming that cutting force attributable to one abrasive grain does not exceed the force of cutting grain retention by the tool binding substance. Maximal permissible depth of grinding is determined depending on the parameters of very hard powdered material being processed, abrasive tools and grinding modes. Through-feed processing of an item is carried out for the depth not exceeding the maximal grinding depth.
EFFECT: improved quality of processed surface and abrasive tool durability due to the efficient combination of parameters of centreless grinding mode.
