FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wind power and can be used to convert wind power, that of artificially created air or gas flows with horizontal component relative to earth surface, as well as gravitational energy, into mechanical power. Proposed windmill comprises a wheel rotor representing a system of free running rotors fitted on the shaft connected with the working vertical shaft. The windmill incorporates an element allowing the 3rd degree of freedom and linked up with the shaft of each rotor and the working shaft. It also allows turning the rotor shaft axis relative to the working shaft axis in the plane passing through the working shaft axis. Aforesaid element can be a flexible spring-like member rigidly fastened with the working and rotor shafts. It can be furnished with the limiter of spring travel along the plane passing through the working shaft axis that prohibits turning about the working shaft axis. The said element can also represent a rocker arranged to turn about the axis perpendicular to those of the working shaft and rotors. Note here that rocker rests upon the said travel limiter representing a clamp rigidly fastened with spring-loaded bushing with a spline or key joint arranged on the working shaft.
EFFECT: higher efficiency due to exploiting gyroscopic pression forces, aerodynamic and gravity forces acting on windmill.
