FIELD: wind power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in wind power generating plants to convert wind energy into mechanical energy. Proposed windmill contains self-rotating rotor and radial blade in form of cylinder with end washers, rotor and blade being mounted on shaft connected with working shaft by means of boss. Windmill is furnished with additional axle square to axes of rotor and working shaft and arranged in point of intersection of shaft with working shaft in boss. Rotor and cylinder are arranged on one shaft made for free rotation in boss and turning relative to working shaft. Rotor and cylinder are located at opposite sides relative to boss and are rigidly secured on shaft. Windmill can be furnished with stiffening frame of cylinder and/or rotor being additional point for support for shaft of rotors, and it is provided with diffuser secured on stiffening frame and enclosing self-rotating rotor. Invention increases wind utilization factor owing to use, together with aerodynamic forces, force of gyroscopic precession, as rotor system included into working wheel has three degrees of freedom of rotors rotating relative to fixed point being point of intersection of three axes, namely, axis of working wheel, axis of rotor shaft and axis of additional axle.
EFFECT: increased wind utilization factor.
