FIELD: physics; rocket propellant.

SUBSTANCE: method includes hardening of mix solid propellant item in casing with application of coolant, determination of volume-averaged temperature of item in the end of hardening by measurements of average value of coolant temperature in process of hardening and measurement of pressure in body in the end of hardening. After hardening item is cooled with application of coolant, at that for 6-24 hours after cooling has started, cooling temperature is maintained as 15-30°C less than hardening temperature. For 3-10 hours before time of coolant temperature maintenance elapses, volume-averaged coolant temperature is measured and used to define volume-averaged temperature of item is defined in the end of coolant temperature maintenance. In the moment of coolant temperature maintenance time expiry, pressure is measured in body. Obtained data is used to define coefficient of pressure variation in closed volume of body as item temperature changes by 1°C, and then equilibrium temperature of item is calculated.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of determination of equilibrium temperature of mix solid propellant item.
