FIELD: physics, measurement.
SUBSTANCE: method for calibration of stand in vehicle external lights adjustment test bench. Invention objective is to receive additional information during stand calibration, which is required for correction of systematic error that reduces accuracy of vehicle external lights adjustment. Calibrated stand layout includes zones of vehicle wheels placement with specification of its base and track width, and also zone for placement of base of metering facility used to adjust vehicle external lights, in front of vehicle lights and in front of bench screen with specification of distances between these zones and distance to zones for vehicle front wheels placement. In process of marking marks are applied as additional controlled points on calibrated surface of stand that correspond to central points identified on plan of placement zones, when measuring height difference of additional controlled points, coherent light beam is formed, oriented along parallel straight line that connects central points of placement zones of both the right front and the right back wheels of vehicle and the left front and left back wheels of vehicle, height is measured to light beam from central point of zone of installation of metering facility base in front of appropriate vehicle light, and the height to light beam from central point of placement zone of metering facility base in front of adjustment screen for appropriate light beam. Difference of measured heights is used to serially determine value of systematic errors in process of adjustment of vehicle front lights.
EFFECT: reception of additional information during stand calibration, which is required for correction of systematic error that reduces accuracy of vehicle external lights adjustment higher accuracy of adjustment of vehicle external lights.
