FIELD: welding jobs.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for welding elongated workpieces, for example pipes, including those of an arbitrary cross section. At least one friction disk located in the orbital plane of workpieces is fixed on every part of workpiece, on both sides of the joint plane. Friction welding heads are fitted on at least one disk in at least one plane, each head housing a vibration head fastened to friction disk. Aforesaid heads are vibrated at equal friction frequency and in preset phase position. The workpieces are held down together in the joint plane during the entire cycle of vibration.
EFFECT: simple feed of high power to plane of jointing large and elongated workpieces.
