METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC SCANNING OF PHASED ARRAY BEAM Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC H01Q3/26

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: electronic scanning of phased array beam is realised by serial displacement of beam between two fixed angular directions in space, by means of variation of signals phase distribution in radiators with the help of phase changers. At that initial phase distribution of beam is calculated, and beam is established into initial angular position. Then phase distribution of final beam position is calculated by means of phase value determination for every radiator, then it is memorised, radiators are distributed into N subarrays, at that N is selected based on condition T is time of single working cycle specified for phased array; τ is time interval of re-phasing of every subarray in radiators. Then radiator subarrays are re-phased in any sequence in compliance with memorised values of phase for every radiator of subarray, and the next subarray re-phasing is started on completion of the previous subarray re-phasing.

EFFECT: provision of smooth displacement of phased array beam with any type of phase changer and higher accuracy of phase distribution realisation.
