FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: converter may be used for automatic control of sheets and pipes. The ultrasound immersion converter comprises a body, a damper, piezoelectric plates, at the same time it comprises two identical piezoelectric plates, electrodes of which are electrically combined, and plates are installed at identical angle to the axis of the converter equal to 89…84°. Plates are made as capable of their simultaneous excitation.
EFFECT: creation of an electric acoustic converter, making it possible to detect different oriented defects in welded seams without change of orientation of a converter relative to a welded seam.
