FIELD: physics; measurement.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to electrical engineering, particularly to measuring techniques. Invented here is a device for determining continuity of a gas-liquid stream, flowing in a dielectric pipe. The device has microwave generator 1, output of which is connected to first communication element 2, concave metal plate 3, second communication element 4, input of which is connected to detector 5, flat metal plate 6, third communication element 7, fourth communication element 8, phase metre 9 and device for analysing amplitude-frequency characteristic 10. Dielectric constants of an anisotropic stream, giving rise to refraction of waves in parallel and orthogonal directions, when they change, are measured using resonance frequency of an open resonator, formed by flat and concave metal plates 6 and 3.
EFFECT: simplification of the design of the detecting element and more accurate measurement.
