Method is based on use of characteristics of electromagnetic waves interacting with medium being checked. Method includes probing of anisotropic liquid by electromagnetic oscillations, separation of two orthogonally-polarized waves from wave passed through liquid being checked, and determination of phase different between the polarized waves proportional to liquid level in reservoir.
