SUBSTANCE: method includes mowing together with mashing and raking grass dried to 40% of moisture in rolls. Grass from the rolls are picked up, pressed, conveyed and stored. Completion of grass drying is carried out with heated or atmospheric air. Hereafter hay dried to moisture of 10-15% is powdered in flour and packed in storage containers. The device for carotene production has a frame, revolving charging hopper with hog shredder and concave with discharge gear. The device has lifting guards fixed with the possibility being replaced throughout the height for adjusting shredder performance. The vertical tanker with two spring-loaded grippers provides uniform feed of mass through the fixed bottom to the chaffing rotor. Hay is powdered in flour and drawn off to cyclone separator by a ventilator. Thereafter flour is packed in containers through dosing unit and screw with window, whereupon it is stored.

EFFECT: maximum content of nutritional elements and decrease of carotene losses in feed.
