FIELD: medicine; orthopaedics and traumatology.
SUBSTANCE: hip joint endoprosthesis contains a head, a neck, a pelvic component, and a leg comprising a hollow cylindrical tube tapered and dead-ended in a distal part. In proximal leg, there is a cylindrical trochanteric part sliding along the internal surface and provided with a rod in the centre. There is an alignment cylinder mounted in the middle of the rod. The distal end of the rod is axially movable within a guide hole of the dead-ended part of the leg. The proximal end of the rod is cylindrical. It slides in a gasket fixed in a seat provided in the leg in distal direction of the trochanteric part. The alignment cylinder comprises a piston with split seal ring mounted on its lateral surface in ring grooves, and separates a cavity formed by the gasket seat face and the dead-ended face on two sealed cavities. The distal end of the rod is provided with diametrical longitudinal grooves, as well as a guide hole in the tapered dead-ended part of the leg with square cross-section. Both cavities of the leg are filled with biologically inert gas under high pressure.
EFFECT: improved results ensured by higher stability of leg position in femoral canal and prolonged durability of endoprosthesis.
