HIP JOINT ENDOPROSTHESIS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: medical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device has head member, neck member, trochanteric part, pedicle and inlay. The endoprosthesis has damping polymer ring mounted between end faces of the trochanteric part and pedicle. Endoprosthesis inlay is manufactured from elastic flexible material and has big and small thickened ends of square cross-section and narrowed cylindrical middle part. The narrowed inlay part is reinforced in longitudinal direction with soft non-spring wire shaped as helical cylindrical spring. Cavity of square cross-section is available in the trochanteric part for mating with the greater thickened inlay end open towards the pedicle with its through cylindrical opening. The inlay is mounted in the cavity of square cross-section without axial displacements being allowed. A canal of square cross-section is available in the pedicle for receiving the smaller thickened inlay end and cylindrical canal. The smaller thickened inlay end is fixed in the pedicle in axial direction with combined bushing and screws. Gap is available between narrowed cylindrical middle part of the inlay and internal surface of the combined bushing.

EFFECT: high stability of prosthesis pedicle; enhanced effectiveness of treatment.
