EMULSION SPLITTING METHOD Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B01D17/38

Abstract RU 2355459 C1

FIELD: treatment facilities.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the methods of splitting liquid mixtures containing oil-products and other organic compounds, water, gaseous inclusions and can be used in oil and gas industry in the systems designed for collection, treatment and processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, treatment of effluent water, oils etc. The method implies heating the emulsion, jetting it as a vortex swirling flow where the central zone is characterised by the reduced pressure produced by centrifugal forces and the peripheral zone - by the pressure providing for forcing out the light phase to the central zone of the swirling emulsion flow, withdrawing the central and peripheral flows as well as part of the peripheral flow into the original emulsion to be recycled. The gas phase is withdrawn above the upwards swirling flow, such swirling flow velocity is provided so that to be sufficient for intensive gas withdrawal due to reducing pressure in the central zone of the swirling flow and multiple passing of the liquid through the splitting zone.

EFFECT: providing for withdrawal of heavy and light liquid phases and gas phase from the emulsion vortex swirling flow without a sedimentation tank.
