FIELD: welding works.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an arc-welding generator with high power coefficient and can be used in arc-welding devices. The generator consists of rectifier cascade (100), behind which is located PFC cascade (200) and inverter cascade (300), which are high frequency cascades. The last cascade supplies power to the last rectifier cascade for generating welding arc (404). PFC cascade (200) consists of two inductors (203, 204) which are magnetically coupled, two diodes (212, 213), with opposite directions of conductivity, two equalising capacitors (216, 217) and apparatus for controlling the order of switching on and off the first two switches so as to control the wave shape of current used by the rectifier cascade, bringing it into conformity with the wavelength of linear voltage. The inverter cascade comprises four triads of the second controlled switches, diodes and capacitors, as well as a common control device for four second switches and final stage current, meant for supplying power for generating the welding arc.
EFFECT: possibility of using current from a power system with high power coefficient, immunity of the generator to mains voltage fluctuations.
