FIELD: biology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to biotechnology and is a method of obtaining 4-hydroxyisoleucine or its salt. This method involves stages of reacting biocatalyst with acetaldehyde, α-aminobutyric acid and α-oxobutyric acid in an aqueous solution. The biocatalyst actively catalyses the reaction which produces 4-hydroxy-L-isoleucine from acetaldehyde and α-oxobutyric acid in the presence of α-aminobutyric acid as an amino group donor. 4-hydroxyisoleucine is extracted.
EFFECT: invention allows for obtaining 4-hydroxyisoleucine with high level of efficiency.
