FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy field and can be used with cooling of blast furnaces. Method includes feeding of cooling water simultaneously at least in two vertical cooling sections. In each section water heated in a bottom cooling area is supplied into gathering main of a bottom cooling area, and water, heated in top cooling area, is fed into the gathering main of top cooling area. From gathering main of bottom area water is fed by pipeline pressure pipe into gathering main of top area, and from gathering main of top area disposed water is fed into lateral main pipeline. Then water is cooled in heat exchanger and again fed through recycling pump into lateral main pipeline. Additionally by application of expansion tank, connected to lateral main pipeline, it is formed column of water, top level of which is located higher disposed water level in gathering main of top area. By means of gas it is created increased pressure in expansion tank. On-stream the system in expansion tank it is kept specified water level.
EFFECT: increasing of cooling efficiency of furnace and design simplification of cooling system.
