FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: offered group of inventions refers to polycrystalline diamond element and to method for its fabricating and can be implemented in diamond rock-destroying tool. A diamond insertion contains a layer of polycrystalline diamond with working surface and connected with a base made out of cemented carbide. Also fine-dispersed binding phase is used in the polycrystalline diamond element; the phase is uniformly distributed in the layer of polycrystalline diamond having adjacent to the working surface zone, depleted with catalytic material. Notably, distribution of binding phase expressed as thicknesses of binding phase is less 6 mcm; while polycrystalline diamond element is formed with diamonds, the average size of which is less 20 mcm.
EFFECT: increased operation life of rock-destroying tool in general due to increased wear resistance of polycrystalline diamond insertion.
