FIELD: production of cutting members compacted in tablets.
SUBSTANCE: proposed cutting member compacted in tablet includes many diamonds or diamond-like elements which are partially bonded forming body of continuous diamond matrix and substrate containing catalyzing material. Inter-crystalline zones located in between diamond crystals form continuous inter-crystalline matrix containing catalyzing material. Diamond matrix body has working surface; part of inter-crystalline matrix body located in the immediate vicinity of working surface is free from catalyzing material at considerable degree and forms second inter-crystalline zone; remaining part of inter-crystalline matrix forming the first inter-crystalline zone contains catalyzing material. Average thickness of first inter-crystalline zone does not exceed 0.15 mm.
EFFECT: enhanced wear resistance of cutting members with no loss of impact viscosity.
