FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: drying drum with infrared heater relates to procedure and equipment for continuous drying of long-length materials: wet textile cloth, loom beam after smoothing, paper, fabric, general mechanical rubber goods as well as for heating film materials touching or embracing rotating cylindrical surfaces. A heater in the drum is mounted inside the drum as a fixed axle made in the form of a cylindrical infrared incandescent electric lamp coaxial to the drum and the journals are fitted only with axial bores. An even gap between the lamp bulb and the inner drum surface does not exceed 10 mm, that between the infrared emitters inside the bulb and the inner cylindrical surface of the bulb - 5 mm. There are at least 12 infrared emitters. They are made as straight sections of the spiral which is pulled from the one bulb end face to the other and back in zigzag manner, evenly or unevenly in relation to the circles of their centres, coaxial circle of the bulb.

EFFECT: simplification of design, manufacturing technique, assembly and maintenance, increasing reliability, service life and safety of performance, reduction of energy demand for heating and increasing the uniformity of heating the drum cylindrical wall along its length and circle perimetre.
