FIELD: physics, measurements.

SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to non-destructive testing of objects. In compliance with this invention, the proposed ultrasound inclined converter comprises an inclined prism with its inclined surface accommodating a piezoelement arranged at equal distance from the prism lateral faces. Note here the prism thickness is commensurable to a body wave length in prism which allows its using as a normal wave resonator. Note also that the prism inclination angle is selected subject to the condition of converting the S0-mode normal wave into a surface wave.

EFFECT: expanded frequency characteristic of converter in low-frequency range.
